You know it was neat as I read your post, I was visualizing that magic reception....it was very cool.I don't have a high quality portable recorder like that but I wonder if I could press my Behringer 202HD external sound card to function in a similar way as your PCM recorder.
I know SL (Spectrun Lab) software runs the sound card fine but I find that software to have a very steep learning curve if you try to make it do things that are not part of the canned routines most people use it for. For example I used it to capture and record my first ever Dawn Chorus event, something I will never forget. SL made it easy since it has presets for that "function".
I need to figure out how to configure it to function as a, sorta fixed, single frequency receiver with a predefined BW of sorts. Hope that made sense hi-hi.
Anyway, for giggles I am going to listen for JJY between now and the next hour as there will be a gray-line path between here and Japan. Will be interesting if any signs of it appear. Thanks again for your comments. 73 Gedas W8BYA
