And some more thoughts on the subject of transformers and inductors for LF receiving work. If high inductance is a design requirement, then a high initial permeability is desirable. MnZn ferrites meet this criterion, and are commonly used in the transformer cores for switch-mode power supplies. Since these can be found in almost any junk equipment - it seems a ready supply of materials is available for the LF experimenter. Has anyone followed this path?
