Mike,Thanks for your note. One-off stuff can be rewarding and frustrating at the same time... But if there was a good reason to construct something that could be replicated by others, this is something I gave a little thought. The SMPS market is such a huge one that a search on Digikey or similar sites provides lots of options for cores and bobbins at fair prices. Additionally, since we would know materials and part numbers it would simple to share details with others.
It would likely be fairly easy to find current parts similar enough to a junkbox special by making a little effort in characterisation.
If you have time, I'd like to know more about your low noise vertical design.
