Just following up on this topic from a while back. Just saw an interesting documentary last night and learned that the the credit card “hands free tap readers” that are now ubiquitous at checkout counters everywhere use 13.56 MHz for their proximity readers. Supposedly, the range is only about 4 cm but who knows. Probably would only interfere with 22m HIFER communications if one lived above a convenience store when the Powerball payout gets over a billion.
