I can normally always at least see a decent carrier from Medi 1 but I have not seen ANY signs of life the times I have checked, which is most evenings. This has been the case for at least several months.I have caught Algeria on 252 kHz doing either some testing or having some technical difficulties as I have observed their carrier completely drop out for 5-10 seconds at a time several times a night.
I have also seen good signs from Algeria on 153 kHz. For many months they have been running what I think is normal programming but with much, much lower power.
However on some nights, esp in the last 3-4 weeks I have seen their carrier back up to flame-thrower status (the way they used to be). On the nights when they did increase their power they still had the continuing issue of being way under-modulated as it was difficult to listen to any voices or music. 73 Gedas W8BYA
