Oddly enough for someone to say who grew up 1000 miles inland, I do miss the shipping forecast. Way back in Ye Olden Days (pre "new" band plan) when the frequency was still 200 kHz, I used to copy BBC fairly regularly here in southeast Kansas if I took care to sufficiently null NDB TUK. Alas, Friar TUK became a bigger obstacle after the change, especially when I lived in Georgia for some years.
