Good Questions Bill.

My setup was simple enough really. Mods to the QRP rig included

1) Adding the 13.56 crystal the second crystal position.
2) Calculating and building an attenuator to take the nominal 1.25 W down to <4 mW.

This is a bit wasteful I suppose, but was the easiest way to get going. The system is keyed using a kit from K1EL. It is fairly easy to program with any Morse message - you can keep several stored in memories.

Antenna is a sloping Dipole on the house roof. Cabling is all 75 ohm TV stuff, with attempts to match appropriately using a balun at the antenna feed and an ATU after the transmitter.

I'm not a licenced amateur - I'm a radio listener, tinkerer and experimenter. The HiFER operation stuff is a real gift.

A little tube osc. rig would be neat - you could use a dual triode or similar to buffer, key and cut down the drive to an allowable O/P level.
