As I am still nursing a broken foot to keep from going nuts I used AI again to write a new program. This one took 2 days and still has a few bugs in it but so far I like it.I use SDRConsole to run my RSDPdx and to make my RAW recordings. Love the program but hate it's notch filter. It uses an automatic notching algorithm that does a great job at removing carriers within the audio passband but it completely dorks up the audio quality and low frequency fidelity of LW transmissions.
I therefore setout and wrote my own program that lets me input any RAW I/Q or demodulated audio file and lets me place my own notches where I want them, adjust their width and their depth. While I was at it I added a few bells and whistles to spice up the audio making it much more pleasant to the ear. I made a crude video showing it's operation of a I/Q recording from several nights ago of Algeria on 252 kHz. You will have to forgive the horrible audio quality as my video screen grabber did not grab the audio output from my program but instead used the built in mic on my laptop !
I can now finally go back to recordings from the past that had horrible carriers blasting away (like radio Poland that has a ton of very strong NDB signals) and wipe them clean w/o messing up the audio quality. I know there are several other SDR programs out there with manual notch filters but thus far I have not found any that play nicely with RAW I/Q files from SDRPlay. Here is a brief video. Once it is finished, and if there is any interest, I can make it available to anyone. Thus far it will accept RAW I/Q files from SDRPlay SDR's as well as the AirSpy HF+ and any demodulated audio recordings saved in either WAV or MP3 formats. 73 Gedas W8BYA
