I found that same Nepalese SDR in Katmandu. Lots of noise. On their northern border they have the roof of the world that faces Mongolia. That doesn't help much. I found a listener online that commented on hearing MNB. This person was in Korea. That listener's comments discourages the hope of hearing MNB. From this person's conclusion I gather the following:

1. They start at around 6 a.m. Mongolia time and broadcast till night. So it's pretty much a daylight operation.
2. When the high kilowatt unit is started up they usually take 30 minutes or more to get it online. As if there is a technical problem like breakers tripping, etc.
3. This person mentioned that interference is a problem to the lower kilowatt units. Also mqny times one will not come on. I highly suspect that money is an issue. I found this person's comments from 2013 so who knows where MNB stands right now.

I know that MNB has other radio stations and television as well but LW broadcasting may be on the way out. I have seen some of their English language broadcast on TV videos and they are very good. If I find out more information I will let you know.
