youtube video of a YL buring her antenna and coax and making contacts.:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pp1ZC0e2W8M

When i was in military i served in Army and Air Force. both units i served in we practiced buring antenna systems and of course they were much larger than common usage antennas for us hams or swl listeners. We did do hastely buried system practices for small unit commos and they worked fantastic. . i use a bare wire buried in my front yard as a dipole cut for 160 meters .its inside a cpvc pipe and sealed on both ends on each section. coax i use i switch from ladderline ,insulated to rg6u quad shield.i use a water proof box that i use a remote relay to switch the feedlines. i have mine buried about 6 inches down and i laid some sand in before placing the dipole seems i get better reception with the ladder line feed. i run QRP on all my equipment and have run FT8 clear over to Africa, and SSB to japan.Havent tried slow scan tv yet but i can receive it on the 20 meter section
CW is easy i worked WAS with my setup. contacted over 50 countries so far with it.not bad for buried antennas and the neighbors who are a pain dont even realize i have radio equipment unless they look behind my garage and see the homebrew paintpole vertical.HI
