Hi Ed, Gedas and Glenn et al., Wow, you guys have given me a treasure trove of information! I’ve made a list of the various software apps you guys recommended and will be investigating these in the coming days. This is really fun and I’m grateful for all the help you provided. I’ll update the group periodically as I continue to tweak my setup.
Re the Mac versus PC/Windows debacle, I’ve used Macs exclusively for my personal home stuff since the early 1990s, but also spent 35 years using PCs in a corporate/technical environment, so I’m quite familiar with both platforms. That said, I prefer the simplicity and smoothness of the Mac’s. However, that comes with the inevitable compatibility issues that—no surprise—I’m already seeing for my current “SDR project.” But I’ll keep persevering and posting updates here, so maybe if I’m ultimately successful in getting QRSS from my shiny new RSPdx-R2 SDR to run smoothly on a Mac, other lonely Mac users on this board might also benefit.
In any case, this is a total blast and I’m grateful for all of your suggestions and support.
