Hi Gedas,I think you must be right, what I heard last night was most likely Algeria, not Romania. See the following summary table, which I only just discovered today:
www.asiawaves.net/longwave-radio.htm#longwave-153
It indicates that R Romania on 153 kHz operates during a 16 h window of 0400-2000 UTC, whereas my logging last evening was 0153 UTC and following, outside that broadcast window. In contrast, R Algeria is listed 24 hours on 153 kHz, so assuming the table is accurate and current, I could not have been hearing Romania. Also, regarding power, R Romania on 153 kHz is listed as 200 kW compared to R Algeria's 2000 kW. Seems pretty clear, I must have been copying R Algeria last night. Regarding my 2 previous "loggings" of R Romania in Jan and Feb 2024 (DX Downstairs in LOWDOWN), these were also probably R Algeria, since they occurred at 0143 and 0134 UTC, respectively, both outside the R Romania broadcast time window.
Only one remaining mystery: why do I so infrequently hear voices/music from Algeria on 153 kHz (despite a carrier almost 100% of the time), but fairly frequently (13 months logged over 3 years) on 252 kHz? The table above mentions "directional antenna system" for Algeria/153 and not Algeria/252 so maybe that's the explanation.
Thanks for helping me/us sort this out, Gedas.
