Apologies to anyone who may have tried listening to PVC during the holiday break. UNfortunately the transmitter turned off during my absence, but was restored to operation on Sunday (1/7/2024). While out of town, an electrical failure yielded the core from a ~30VA toroidal transformer. I am now interested to evaluate it for some VLF receiving transformer experiments, and also some SMPS ferrite cores I mentioned a while ago. Mostly just for fun, while thinking that the increased losses at MF/HF could be beneficial to reduce MF overload while hunting <100kHz. I've seen VLF designs using commercial audio transformers in the past - these tests would allow more custom winding. Should be interesting, and will cost nothing :) Ed 73
