Hi John,

Thanks very much for the reply and information about capabilities for sub-audible visualization of QRSS CW at LW frequencies using computerized technologies. Certainly your points are well taken, and no surprise to me, given the focus of so many posts on both the LW and HF section of this board. I'm impressed that such technologies even exist. That said, as a committed listener from way back, half the fun for me is actually hearing things, pulling the weakest of signals out of the background noise and static crashes, and convincing myself that what I think I'm hearing, I actually am hearing. I don't have any current plans to computerize my shack, either for hamming or LW listening, although I suppose that could change. But I'm retired now (2 months!) and nobody is paying me for this, so I do what's fun for me. For now, access to my iPhone in the shack for RBN and QRZ is all I need or want. So, I'll keep listening for TAG via headphones, 80 miles away, and if I ever do hear it (which may be unlikely as you say), it will be cause for both of us to celebrate!

Thanks again, John. Good luck and all the best.

Bruce WA1HGJ
