Quick update on 170/171 kHz:

Last evening here near Boston (2023-04-30 0046 UTC), I heard carriers on BOTH 170 kHz and 171 kHz again, for the first time in a while. Lately it's usually just been 171 (Morocco, as Mike noted elsewhere in this string). Last night the 170 carrier was considerably stronger than 171, and switching to AM, music was clearly audible although unintelligible. Because of the AM bandwidth, even using narrow bandwidth filtering, I could not clearly establish if the music was from the 170 or 171 carrier, but I strongly suspect it was associated with 170 since that carrier was so much stronger than 171 last night.

Does anyone have any information on what the AM broadcast station on 170 kHz is? I can find plenty of stuff on 171 kHz Morocco, but nothing on 170 kHz.

Tnx for any info. 73, Bruce WA1HGJ
